The Commerce Design Winnipeg contest will reward up to ten Winnipeg merchants who

have called on interior design and architecture professionals to help them design or redesign their businesses.

In addition to the usual criteria for evaluating the quality of commercial design projects (e.g. creativity; aesthetics; coherence of the interior, exterior and graphic design; functionality; security; ease of maintenance; longevity; etc.), situating projects in their particular contexts is key to the jury's evaluation.

The jury's selection aims to reflect a broad range of commercial realities in Winnipeg, so that as many businesses as possible can identify with one or another of the winning establishments. Ideally, the jury's choices should cover a variety of budgets, business types, locations and design styles.
